The world’s largest social gaming portal Spil Games has chosen a ‘next generation’ payment system from specialist provider Adyen. It allows players across the world to start buying virtual items and credits for the games they play with a single click.

Based in the Netherlands, Spil Games owns and operates a localised global network of online social-gaming platforms. The company is ranked as a top 60 most-visited online property in the world and attracts over 130 million unique visitors to its social gaming platforms each month.

With this network of online social gaming platforms tailored to girls, teens and families, in up to 19 different languages, Spil Games needed an Internet payment service provider that could adapt to the requirements of local markets around the world, including the emerging markets of Latin America. There was also a need for flexibility to support multiple payment methods.

Customers playing games at any of Spil Games portals can now start buying virtual items and credits for the games they play, using Adyen’s streamlined, single-click, one-page payment system. This approach has been shown to increase conversion rates and decrease costs by as much as 50% says the company.

The Adyen solution claims to offer merchants flexibility to control the look and feel of the payment page which can be viewed on a single screen using Ajax technology.
