Independent fashion retailer, M&Co, is working to grow its ecommerce strategy as it invests in digital to meet changing consumer habits, the company says.

Since opening the first store 50 years ago, the family-owned, Scottish retailer has 269 stores worldwide, with almost 3,900 employees across its UK estate, distribution centre, buying and head offices. M&Co designs and specifies the manufacturing of its product ranges encompassing womenswear, kidswear, menswear and a range of homeware.

M&Co has recently increased IT investment to take advantage of new technologies designed to enhance customer experience.  Astound Commerce will implement several digital projects for the retailer aimed at reaching younger shoppers and increasing online conversion rates.

Nichola Toner, Head of Ecommerce & Customer Experience at M&Co, explains: “We are really excited to be working with Astound. Key to the future growth of M&Co is the implementation of our digital strategy and the growth of our ecommerce channel in the UK. And critical to this is meeting the omnichannel needs of our customers.”

She continues: “Having discussed the digital journey, we now understand what is possible and, in the short time we have been working together, we see how quickly we can progress the vision.”

Originally launched in 2006, mandco.com operates on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) platform making Astound Commerce a natural digital partner as the agency has extensive experience implementing and maximising SFCC platform performance for several high-profile retailers globally.

Terry Hunter, MD of Astound Commerce, says: “As digital retail continues to change and innovate at pace, we’re delighted to be collaborating with the M&Co team. We have been talking for a few months and have developed a great working relationship so look forward to using our global knowledge and in-market expertise to help them implement their digital strategy moving forward.”

Astound Commerce will manage support and upgrades for M&Co’s online platform making this a long-term, strategic partnership.
