Making the online homeware boom even more enticing, Cox & Cox is letting shoppers build their ideal room

Homeware retailer Cox & Cox is rolling out ‘Room Builder’ software that will allow customers to design rooms virtually – from furniture to paint colour – save it, share it and message it in as it adapts to the online homewares boom.

Powered by Hullabalook stickers technology, the Room Builder software allows customers to start with a blankcanvas, select the shade of flooring closest to theirs, as well as a wall colour, and create. The tool also allows furniture to be added, moved or removed easily from the drop-down menu options to one side.

Once the layout is done mirrors, lighting, plants and decorative accessories can all be added. When the room is finished the design can be saved and shared via email/message and all the chosen products automatically appear in a wish list, which can be added to the basket with one click - a seamless shopping experience.

"The possibilities are endless to suit every interior style,” says Dani Taylor, Product & Creative Director at Cox & Cox. “Seeing how products look next to each other, being able to swap things in and out, and even changing paint colourson the wall - it’s a fantastic tool. We’ve had a lot of fun playing around with this and know that our design conscious customers will love it too, we look forward to seeing what they come up with."

Always on the lookout for the latest website technologies is Aynsley Peet, E-Commerce Director at Cox & Cox, who says: "We love to be one step ahead, providing better shopping experiences for our customers. With the latest website technology at their fingertips we could immediately see the potential of working with Hullabalook, incorporating their room builder software into our website."

He continues, "Early feedback from eager customers using it in the first weeks of launching has been fantastic and the aim now is to build on that positivity and start using the software as a marketing tool. The design and in-house styling teams will build rooms showing how to create the latest interiors trends that home-interiors enthusiasts can replicate, and we can invite our customers to share their own designs with us which we’ll thenshare on our social media chan- nels, and through Style Notes, our blog."
