We’ll be about 8~10 in total, in the private dining at the top of the Skygarden in London. Starting at 0900 we’ll have a hard stop by 1030, so you’ll get an intense, informal time to chat over an excellent high-altitude breakfast!
Interflora has an incredible story – “experts in blooms and emotions”. It has a ubiquitous presence, yet it achieves wonders by support, influence and consistent results rather than by “owning” everything. With over 1000 independent florist (ie they aren’t owned or franchised, but a network), a highly-perishable product, that is delivered to exacting deadlines, where the customer (purchaser) is often not the recipient who experiences the flowers… the complexities are legion. If we then consider the marketing challenges (communicating the range, the anticipates experience, trust and certainty, in-flight feedback and loyalty) then we realise the challenges (and the brilliant execution!) that has kept Interflora at the heart of flower-giving for decades.
In our breakfast we’re going to take as a theme how “final mile becomes the first moment of delight”. The logistics are so often seen as a grudging necessity to be delivered at lowest cost. However, where the sender is not the recipient then the in-flight communications, the certainty that joy has been delivered, comms with the recipient and delivering the marketing promise of delight, of love, of joy… Nathan will open with some words on their journey to match delivery with promise, what he’s learned and what’s coming next, but the format is an open conversation where we’ll want to hear your thoughts and questions on that final mile and what you want to achieve for your customer.
