In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter our focus is on how leading IRUK500 retailers are adapting the way that they sell to meet shoppers’ changing behaviour. We report how Sainsbury’s is trialling a technological and format response to supermarket shoppers who are becoming more likely to pop in quickly rather than linger, how the first of Ikea‘s new small format order and collection points launches next week, and how Waitrose is launching the latest in a series of spin-off websites to capture the attention of shoppers in niche markets.

We also bring you an interview with Ola Ignatowicz, ecommerce manager at the Natural History Museum, and report on how online delivery volumes are now starting to take off for 2015, with further growth expected ahead of Christmas and peak season.

Our guest comment today comes from Carol McDonald of MapR Technologies, who considers the role recommendation engines will play as ecommerce continues to expand.
