Zapper the mobile payments company, has partnered with MYPOS, a leading provider of specialist POS systems, to broaden the reach of their mobile payment technology for restaurants, and it has gone live at celebrity chef Cyrus Todiwala’s restaurant Café Spice Namaste in Aldgate, in London.

Restaurants using the MYPOS payment system will be able to use the Zapper for Restaurants service for their venues. This prints a QR code on bills, which customers can then use their free Zapper app to scan and pay their bills without having to wait for a card terminal. The diner can easily add a tip or split the bill as desired. Zapper then captures customer’s details, allowing restaurants to build a community and provide targeted offers and promotions.

By partnering with MYPOS, Zapper will benefit from their powerful, cutting edge EPOS systems and gain access to their vast portfolio of clients within the restaurant and café market, to further broaden the hundreds of restaurants already using the Zapper service.

MYPOS have recently been bolstering their dedicated cloud offerings and moving toward non-physical points of sale. With the new partnership, MYPOS will be able to offer their clients an innovative, mobile-first method of payment through the Zapper app, subsequently speeding up service, reducing errors and fraud, and simplifying payment.

European MD for Zapper, Bradley Duke said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with MYPOS, a company that shares our vision for achieving innovation in payment for everyday items. The MYPOS – Zapper partnership will benefit diners in the UK, making it far easier to pay bills as well as take advantage of great offers. Zapper for Restaurants is designed to build community, drive revenue and provide a superior customer experience. Restaurants benefit from a simplified payment process that frees up their staff enhancing the overall quality of service in the restaurant. They also get to know their customers and are able to attract them back with tailored offers.”

The process of integration is easier than ever with the release of version 2.0 of Zapper’s Web API, easily allowing POS vendors to create Zapper payment codes associated with individual orders, providing personalised offers to customers based on their previous menu choices.

Business Development Manager for MYPOS, James Hole explains the significance of the deal: “Our exciting new partnership with Zapper has allowed MYPOS to integrate and take full advantage of the latest innovation in mobile payments. We have utilised Zapper’s QR Code technology to complement our traditional and mobile POS applications, in providing a simple, fast and secure way to pay. At peak times of service, time is of the essence and with the use of Zapper, customers can pay the bill at their own convenience without any reliance on calling the waiting staff to the table. This not only frees up staff time for maintaining high quality customer service but also delivers a unique customer experience. What’s also great is how the use of Zapper allows the merchant to utilise push notifications to streamline promotional activity and interact directly with their target audience, helping to ensure higher customer retention rates.”

Zapper was launched in October last year and already has hundreds of independent restaurants and chains using the system internationally. The Zapper app is available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone platforms.
