Amazon has announced Hub by Amazon, a new locker solution for apartment residents in the US that can be used for delivery of Amazon items as well as packages from other senders.
The solution is already available to 500,000 residents from New York to San Francisco, according to Amazon with new lockers being added each month.
Items are shipped to their apartment as they normally would be and then stored in the Hub ready for pick-up. The system has been decided to free property staff from dealing with packages directly and allow easier access to parcels for residents.
“We’re always striving to make things easier for our customers. Building on Amazon’s expertise in locker solutions, the Hub addresses frustrations from property owners, carriers and residents concerning package delivery,” said Patrick Supanc, director, Amazon Worldwide Lockers and Pickup.
