Drones. If you’re a fan of PG Wodehouse, you’ll know that’s the name of Bertie Wooster’s club. If apiculture is more your thing, you’ll be thinking ‘hives’.
But in the world of delivery, they’re the future. Or are they? Well, in one very particular sense they are in the future for eDelivery. We have a drone demo taking place on the opening morning of EDX 2015, 25 March, at the Birmingham NEC.
The Civil Aviation Authority has given its blessing to the demo – no small matter considering Birmingham Airport isn’t far away – and thanks to our friends at Scurri, who are making it all possible, the demo doubles up as a competition.
One lucky EDX visitor could be going home with the contents of the drone’s payload – an Apple Watch.
To be in with a chance of winning, register here to attend EDX and make sure you specify that you’ll be attending the Scurri workshop.
Whether drones will be in all our futures is, of course, another matter. In fact, we’ve been talking to people across the industry to gauge opinions, and we’ll be publishing them later this week.
