Video: Sneak peek into Euro Car Parts’ semi-automated warehouse

Getting a sneak peek inside a retailer’s warehouse operations can be a rare treat so this insight video into Euro Car Parts recently launched semi-automated warehouse is a must-see.

The distribution centre featured is one of five that support the company’s 210 branch business. T2, based in Dordon, Tamworth offers automated put away, pick and move of goods and is supported by T1 in Dordon as well as satellites in Bonehill, Swadlincote and a specialist automotive paint facility in Milton Keynes.

The T2 facility is one of the largest automotive aftermarket facilities of its kind in Europe and covers 1 million sq ft of space. The warehouse includes an industry leading roll cage system and tote system which enables automated shelf storage and picking. This helps to eliminate manual lifting, streamline outbound processes and sequence despatch loading.

Martin Gray, CEO of Euro Car Parts, said: “The new T2 facility is at the core of initiatives that are taking place across the whole of the business. This will mean greater stock accuracy, more efficient picking and faster deliveries to customers.”
