John Lewis is expanding a service allowing customers to return products to Waitrose drivers across the country.
The service, which was previously trialled in 21 shops last year, allows customers to hand John Lewis ecommerce parcels to a Waitrose grocery delivery driver. There is no extra charge for using the service, with Waitrose offering free delivery for orders over £60.
The service is available for smaller parcels of up to 54x35x22cm in all postcodes served by Waitrose.
Ged Keogh-Peters, director supply chain strategy for the John Lewis Partnership, said: “Following the success of the trial we are pleased to be extending this service to even more customers.
“We are excited to be at the forefront of new services to make online shopping as convenient and quick as possible.”
John Lewis operations head Berangere Michel commented in March on the trial, saying that partnerships such as this would be needed to meet customer expectations for fulfilment.
Waitrose recently announced it would expand its two-hour grocery delivery service beyond London to two new UK towns. Waitrose Rapid Delivery will be available in Bath from 8 July and Hove from 15 July. It will also expand to a further 58 postcodes in London including Battersea, Victoria and Kingston.
