DHL and Lidl click and collect service expands to 500 German stores

Customers will be able to collect their DHL parcels from 500 Lidl stores across Germany by the end of this year as the two companies expand their collaboration.
The DHL Packstations, which are already available at 12 Lidl branches, are lockers that allow customers to send or receive parcels. Buyers who have registered with DHL can select the option at checkout.

The stations, of which there are 3700 across the country, are already available at 12 branches including in Berlin and Hamburg.

René Engel, member of the management board at Lidl Germany, said: “No one wants to spend his free time traveling long distances. We therefore offer our customers another service directly at our branches with DHL Packstations.

“In this way, we underscore our claim to be the main shopping centre and bring the digital world directly to the Lidl branches.”

Martin Linde, head of sales of the German mail and parcel division of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, said: “Everyone benefits from the partnership Pages and especially our customers, as 500 more DHL Packstations are being developed in easily accessible, attractive locations.

“The new packing stations are part of the promise we have made to our customers for further improved service quality.”

Parcel lockers are also being explored by PostNord and PostNL.
