UK postal carrier Royal Mail has taken on a new five-year lease at a logistics site near Heathrow airport.
The 91,349 square foot site is located on Bedfont Road, 2.5 miles from Heathrow Cargo Terminal. It offers access to motorways including the M25, M3 and M4.
The new site is expected to be operational by Christmas.
Logistics provider JAS Forwarding also last week took on a 15-year lease at the site, meaning that Heathrow Logistics Park, developed by BlackRock and Graftongate, is now fully let.
Colin Beasley, director at Graftongate, said: “We’re very pleased to have let all four units at Heathrow Logistics Park to occupiers of this calibre, despite the uncertainty of a global pandemic.
“This scheme offers high specification industrial and logistics facilities with good sized yards, which has attracted occupier interest. With Heathrow Logistics Park fully let, we’re keen to find new opportunities for development.”
London store Selfridges has partnered with Royal Mail to create a new multichannel experience for the Christmas period.
Called Royal Mail at Selfridges, the post-themed space in London will allow customers to buy gifts in store and have them professionally wrapped and delivered directly to the recipient’s address.
