HelloFresh automates carrier selection as it prepares for 2021 growth

Recipe box provider HelloFresh will be able to seamlessly switch between different carriers after deploying new software.
The company will be able to access more than 400 carriers across the UK, Germany and Austria using Metapack’s Delivery Manager.

HelloFresh will be able to automatically select the best carrier for an order, based on availability and requirements, without the need for individual onboarding. The platform will also allow them to generate labels and customs documents.

The meal kit company has seen a surge in demand during the pandemic, as supermarkets’ supply chains were squeezed and customers confined to their houses embraced home cooking.

HelloFresh said in December that it expects 2020 revenue growth to be between 107 to 112%. It also expects revenue growth of 20 to 25% in 2021.

Alex Wright, director of product at HelloFresh, said: “Getting the right technology in place is crucial when it comes to fulfilling on our delivery promise to consumers.

“Metapack’s Delivery Manager platform provides us with access to different carriers across multiple geographies and reduces the complexities of setting up new services. From an operational perspective, we’ve been able to both reduce the manifesting speed of consignments, and onboard new carriers more efficiently – critical as our business continues to scale and expand.”

Bruce Fair, CRO at Metapack, said: “Metapack’s Delivery Manager provides HelloFresh with easy access to the world’s largest carrier library while removing the headaches that are usually associated with carrier onboarding, maintenance and management. Using Metapack, they’re able to focus their energy on serving the needs of their customers, while leaving the operational shipping processes to us.”
