Achica has appointed Steve Robinson (pictured), who previously headed M and M Direct, as its new chief executive as the members-only homewares-to-food site shifts its focus towards expansion at home and abroad.
He takes over from William Cooper, who co-founded Achica and will now move to chair the company, a role in which he will help to develop corporate strategy.
Robinson joined the company in July 2013 as chief operating officer and will now lead Achica as it focuses on international expansion as well as improving both the website and the range.
“Having been trading for four years Achica is still a relatively new business and it is growing rapidly in size, product offer and operations,” said Robinson. “The company has achieved some notable landmarks in the past few months including membership reaching three million, the launch of the first flashsales UK antiques department, a new ad campaign based on the theme of discovery and acceptance into the government #FutureFifty scheme for high-growth businesses. The coming years will be critical in growing Achica as the business looks to expand domestically and internationally.”
Cooper said: “Steve has already played an instrumental role as COO and I am delighted that he has taken on the CEO role. I am confident that with his significant and relevant retail experience he will continue to build on the early success of Achica and enable us to achieve our ambitious goals.”
Achica was founded in 2010 by Will Cooper, a former chief executive of TradeDoubler and Quentin Griffiths, co-founder of Asos.com.
