Irish delivery firm An Post has launched its ReturnPal returns service for online shoppers in Ireland and UK, after revealing it was after a 40% share of the returns market within six months of its launch earlier this year.
The ReturnPal app is now available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store and is free to both download and register with. Using the app online shoppers can arrange to have their unwanted or unsuitable goods collected by An Post from an address of their choosing and returned directly to the retailer from which the goods came. There is no need for the shopper to be in when the goods are collected since parcels can be left in a safe place such as on the customer’s porch or windowsill and An Post will also supply the return label from details provided through the app.
If the retailer concerned offers free returns through An Post ReturnPal then there is no charge to customers. Alternatively, shoppers will pay a standard fee. Items are tracked through to return to the retailer.
Garrett Bridgeman, managing director, mails and parcels, An Post, says: “ReturnPal is a new and innovative product from An Post, which does not exist elsewhere in the market. Our research shows that there is a clear need and demand for this handy, secure service in Ireland and that demand will only increase as online spending grows amongst Irish consumers. We have been able to match what An Post does best to a very real demand from the growing online shopping market”.
