ASOS introduced more than 100 new delivery enhancements and 18,300 additional click and collect locations in 2020, expanding its click and collect offering to 166,000 locations globally it said this week.
The company, which revealed record interim results today, also said it has focused on improving its express delivery offering in 24 markets and its standard delivery proposition in five markets.

Sustainability remains a key focus and the fashion retailer is offering expanded electric delivery vehicles in Central London to W1 and W2 postcodes and has wrapped electric delivery vehicles in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds in ASOS branding.

ASOS revealed that its global infrastructure development is also on track after fitout commenced on its Lichfield fulfilment centre. The Lichfield centre was announced in October 2020 and will support its UK and ROW territories. It will initially go live as a manual facility with a total stock holding of 6 million units but will be automated in the second half 2023 financial year which will expand available capacity to 17 million units.

ASOS will also complete the automation of its US warehouse in Atlanta during the same period, increasing stock capacity by 50% to 15.5 million units in total and a warehouse throughput of 3.1 million units a week.

The company is also working hard on the rollout of flexible fulfilment, using intelligent fulfilment to source stock from the most appropriate location. The first phase, expected at the end of the calendar year with a limited number of brands, will see unified stock availability to enable it to optimise its offering across its fulfilment centres, it said.
