Bloom & Wild is now offering same-day delivery within a two-hour window to customers in the London area.
The flower delivery business aims to make ordering designer flowers as simple as sending a text message, and set out, back in 2013, to use technology to build a new kind of service in the sector.
As customers demanded more immediate delivery, the Vauxhall-based business needed to enable same-day delivery. It chose On the dot after a tender process, and is now using its service, integrated into its website, to offer deliveries within a specified same-day window across London five days a week between 9am and 6pm.
“Online shoppers today expect their orders to be delivered quickly and with exceptional service,” said Josh Roberts, head of expansion at Bloom & Wild. “If you fail to get this right, consumers with a wealth of choice at their fingertips will simply go elsewhere. At Bloom & Wild we are only able to achieve this level of service because we put technology at the heart of the business. In On the dot, we found a partner for our technology platform that understands our customers’ expectations and that we can rely on to continue to grow our business and brand.”
Santosh Sahu, chief executive of On the dot, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with Bloom & Wild, a business that puts technology at the heart of everything it does and who is a first mover in its market, like we are. By accessing our technology, which is underpinned by data and machine learning models, one of the UK’s favourite brands can now offer same day delivery, providing the near-instant experience its customers crave.”
On the dot currently works with 300 brands including Asos, Dixons Carphone, MatchesFashion and Wickes. It says its fastest delivery to date was in 275 seconds – or just under five minutes.
