Sofa manufacturer and retailer DFS has chosen Fluent Commerce’s order management system (OMS) to underpin the development of DFS’s home fulfilment programme, as it expands its non-sofa business.
Headquartered in Doncaster, DFS has 118 shops in the UK and the Republic of Ireland as well as its web platform. Fluent’s OMS will support the brand in scaling up or down efficiently to meet customer demand.
“Fluent Order Management is a key component of our strategic growth plans,” said Dean Darby, head of central systems and application development at DFS.
“It will allow us to use third party logistics companies to deliver our Beds & Mattresses and stocked items – an area of the business which we are looking to grow significantly over the next five years. ”
The new solution will offer DFS a single view of inventory, allowing them to implement return from anywhere and fulfil from anywhere. Customers will be able to see improved stock levels and availability when placing orders online. In addition DFS will be able to scale up when demand increases to provide a more efficient and informative delivery process for the customer. Wunderman Thompson is leading the integration of the solution into DFS’s existing architecture to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.
Rob Shaw, SVP global sales at Fluent Commerce, added: “The fact that another leading retail brand has chosen to deploy our OMS is testament to the ROI it delivers. As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, retailers must focus on delivering a seamless, customer experience and maximising every sales opportunity. Technology plays a critical role.”
Earlier this year DFS announced an extension of its partnership with Wincanton, which will provide home fulfilment services across the UK. Wincanton will oversee end-to-end management of all customer orders from suppliers to point of delivery and return, ensuring a seamless customers experience and helping to support DFS’ ecommerce growth strategy.
