DPD takes on Kent warehouse space

DeliveryX

Carrier DPD has taken on a lease at a new warehouse in southern England.
The ten-year lease will give DPD use of a 47,888 square foot site in Dartford, Kent.

The space is at Orbital 48, which offers direct access to Central London via the A2, A20 and A13. It is also placed near the ports and airports which serve the south-east and London and is within 30 miles of 4.7 million households.

Tim Harding, an associate director in Colliers International’s industrial and logistics team said: “This deal demonstrates the continued robust demand for prime last mile logistics space across the South East and UK as a whole.

“Dartford is not only a key logistics location for the South East and London areas, but also has access to a pool of specialist labour, with recent research showing over 35% of jobs in the area being distribution-related.

“The demand we are seeing for greater adoption of online commerce is expected to remain strong, and as consumer expectation for speedy deliveries continues to rise, it has never been more important for last mile logistics operators, like DPD, to secure prime locations where they can quickly and efficiently deliver to the end consumer.”
