eBay is bringing two central elements of the 21st century Christmas together: present shopping and the theatre trip, as it backs what’s being billed as the “world’s first shoppable pantomime”.
The online marketplace is backing Cinderella: An inspirational fair-retail, which will run for just two performances at the Charing Cross Theatre in central London on November 29 and 30. Proceeds will go to the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.
Those considering buying tickets for the show, which cost £6 each, are notified that “this is an interactive shopping experience and tablet computers will be used,” and warned that “children will be exposed to advertisements for products.” Further details of the pantomime are expected to be released next week.
