From Argos, Bonmarché and Ocado to Sainsbury's: what retailers are doing to stay ahead
In today's Internet Retailing newsletter, we report on retailers from Bonmarché to Ted Baker, Sainsbury's to Iceland Foods, and Shoe Zone, Boohoo.com, Mulberry and Argos in a week that they brought us up to date with their digital strategies.

Over this week we've heard a lot of detail of how retailers are working to keep up with customer demand, from Bonmarché as it launches a responsive website, to Iceland Foods, which in its latest financial year took its online grocery service national. Ocado has even unveiled innovative work on the robotic warehouse assistant of the future.

In the light of all this work, we were struck by a study that came out earlier this week that suggests just how important multichannel convenience is for consumers. The study from Savvy found 74% rated convenience in their decision to buy groceries online, while 19% mentioned their budgets. And it's certainly noticeable in our coverage this week that IRUK 500 companies are again and again making the convenience a priority as they enable customers on budgets of all sizes to buy how, where and when they want - the essence of multichannel shopping.

Today's guest comment comes from Elizabeth Jackson of HookLogic as she advises retailers on how to ensure customers buy, and don't bounce, from a website.
