Waterstones, Boohoo, Just Eat and Dawsons Music: the changing face of modern shopping

In today's Internet Retailing newsletter, we're struck by just how quickly consumers change the way they shop when they are given the opportunity. Just Eat, for example, reports that 38% of its orders now come via its apps. Boohoo, then, should find a strong appetite for its just-launched app. Will there be an equally strong interest by a new use of in-store wearables that Dawsons Music and GoInStore are now looking to pioneer? How the niche retailer's music customers respond to this experimental technology will be of interest to a wider audience.

Today we also report on other retailers as they bring their own approaches to selling across channels. Waterstones is taking a big data approach to the task of putting the bookshop experience online, QVC is exporting its television and ecommerce approach to the French market, while in today's guest comment Andy Mallinson of Stackla considers ways of using social media in selling.
