Gopuff becomes latest to price match Aldi

Instant grocery delivery platform Gopuff has introduced a limited Aldi Price Match on home essentials for customers in the UK capital.

The Aldi Price Match includes 45 everyday products such as pasta and rice, fruit and vegetables, along with meat and dairy. Cleaning products, including toilet paper and washing up liquid, will also be part of the limited time offering.

Gopuff comments: “Gopuff is always looking at ways to add value to our customers, so with inflation still high, part of our focus is to continue offering convenience and help customers make their budgets stretch further.  

“We have chosen the most popular everyday essentials to Aldi Price Match, to make sure everybody gets to take advantage of competitive prices to reach London’s community, including busy parents and professionals.”

The Aldi Price Match range includes groceries from Morrisons own products, as well as other branded products like Pepsi, Wholegood, and Warburtons. 

Morrisons already offers an Aldi and Lidl Price Match from its own stores and website. The discounts were introduced earlier this year, with signage introduced in February to highlight products with the same price or lower than those offered by Aldi and Lidl.

Tesco first introduced the price match campaign in March 2020. At the time, Alessandra Bellini, Tesco chief customer officer, said: “Our customers tell us they want the most competitive prices on the things they buy regularly. This new campaign will help time-poor and budget savvy customers get Tesco products at Aldi prices on products that matter to them.”

Asda and Sainsbury’s also look to showcase prices that compete with the discount supermarket.
