Halfords has seen customer interaction with promotional content rise by 300% since it started using technology from rich media specialist 10CMS.

Nine months on, the automotive accessories-to-bikes retailer is now among the launch customers for the new 10CMS Commerce Content Management system, to be unveiled at this week’s Internet Retailing Expo. Halfords uses the system to create and manage interactive content across its multichannel ecommerce website. The system gives retailers the opportunity to replace static promotions with interactive content and boost clickthrough and conversion rates. They can be changed or updated whenever required at no additional cost and using insight from 10CMS analytics.

James Brooke, 10CMS chief executive, said: “High traffic landing pages represent the number one opportunity to deliver a more compelling brand experience online, and consumer research tells us that 65% of online shoppers are more likely to buy when they engage with interactive content.”

Other features include support for HTML5 and the ability to publish content onsite or on offsite locations such as Facebook.

Jon Asbury, channel development manager at Halfords, says his team can now promote more products across high traffic pages, delivering a more engaging site experience. He said: “We can see exciting future developments in mobile commerce, a key area of our business.”

James Brooke will be showcasing the 10CMS Content Management System in a workshop to be held at Internet Retailing Expo at 2pm on Wednesday March 24. For more details click here.
