House of Fraser has introduced two new next-day delivery options – pre noon and afternoon – in a move that raises the bar for the UK’s online and multichannel retailers.

The move by the department store, an Elite IRUK500 retailer which is also ranked Elite in the operations and logistics performance dimension for the seven delivery choices it offered as long ago as last year, comes in response to continuing research into what its customers want. It adds to existing services offering next-day before 9am, or in the evening.

Now shoppers who order online by 9pm can choose to have their package delivered the next day between 9am and midday (Monday – Saturday), or between 12pm and 6pm (Monday – Friday).

Andy Harding, chief customer officer at House of Fraser, said: “We are continually researching new options and investing in expanding our delivery services to make customers’ buying experiences as hassle-free as possible. The latest development in our delivery proposition strengthens our market-leading position. We’re proud to offer our customers a flexible and truly premium home-delivery service.”
