Lidl builds new warehouse in northern Spain

Discount supermarket Lidl is building its second largest warehouse in Spain to serve the northern region of the country.
Located in Nanclares de la Oca, the €75 million development is located on a 111,000 square metre plot in the Los Llanos industrial estate.

The site will support a new logistics platform, capable of delivering orders more efficiently to a larger network of points of sale.

The site is expected to come online by the end of 2021 and provide a blueprint for the rest of the country.

David Carim, general director of expansion at Lidl Spain, said: “The inauguration of the future Lidl logistics platform in Nanclares de la Oca is a sign of our commitment to developing our long-term business both in the Basque Country and in the rest of the northern part of Spain.

“This project will allow us to deploy our ambitious national expansion plan for the coming years and will contribute to continue boosting the Spanish economy with the generation of wealth and local employment.”
