Everything Everywhere opens new trial stores where mobile plays a shopfloor role and people can charge up their phones

Mobile giant Everything Everywhere, the chimera formed from the splicing of T-Mobile UK and Orange, is rolling out five trial stores across UK high streets that aim to offer all manner of mobile centric sales tools to staff and customers – including letting anyone charge up their mobile in store.

The five stores will be all glass fronted, open-plan and will have live devices for users to try before they buy, but the real mobile retailing aspect is that staff will be using mobile devices on the shopfloor to demonstrate new services and to assist customers looking to buy, upgrade or even repair their phones in the shop.

The fact that anyone can come in an charge their phone as well – regardless of whether they are an Orange or T-Mobile customer also means that those out and about using mobile as part of their shopping experience now need not worry about caning their battery. Sweet.

The first store is due to open in Altrincham on 18 February, with stores in Bishops Stortford, Eltham, Lowestoft and Evesham all planned for the next few weeks.
