Toolstation has launched a new customer app that it promises will provide the easiest and fastest way to buy from it. Fast search, local stock availability, and easy payment are among the tools that the DIY and trade retailer is using in order to deliver on that promise.
The app, launched as Toolstation opens its 500th shop, is available on on iOS and Android. Features include live stock availability across 20,000 product lines for delivery or local collection. Shoppers can search via a search bar, or use navigational filters including type, price, brand and features. The app makes recommendations including product bolt-ons, such as the right drill bits for a power tool, or brushes for paint.
Signed-in shoppers can use it to buy quickly, make a repeat order or save an item for later. They can set their nearest or preferred Toolstation branch as a favourite to check on click and collect availability or delivery stock levels. Shoppers can use the app to reserve items or to pay in-store, generating a QR code for fast checkout at the till. Trade Credit customers can manage their accounts from the app, carrying out tasks including applying for a credit account, checking their account, paying balances and downloading invoices. An in-app chat facility gives live access to a Toolstation member of staff to answer queries, while customers can also order the latest Toolstation catalogue through the app.
Toolstation managing director James MacKenzie says: “We know our customers are incredibly busy, so our new app will help make it easier still for them to work smarter and quicker by ordering to their nearest site or home and manage their accounts from their pocket. At just the tap of a button, our customers can now check their credit accounts, pay balances and download their invoices, which means they can quickly wave goodbye to large amounts of paperwork.”
