M&S clothing and home online sales growth supported by instore fulfilment expansion

Marks and Spencer’s strong online sales growth of 50.8% for clothing and home has been supported by a substantial expansion in instore fulfilment, the company said in its Christmas trading statement this week.
The company said that trading over the Christmas period had been strong. Food sales increased 12.4%, with M&S products also performing strongly on Ocado.com, representing around 30% of baskets in December, the company said.

M&S disposed of two warehouses for a total cash consideration of £42.5m during the period.
