Marks & Spencer has become the latest food retailer to partner with on-demand courier app Deliveroo.
The partnership will allow M&S to offer same-day grocery delivery from 100 of the company’s stores across the UK.
M&S said the move was “just one of the many ways we are supporting our customers and communities during these unprecedented times.”
Morrissons has also partnered with Deliveroo to offer same-day grocery delivery in some postcodes in the UK. Shops in the PayPoint network can also apply to sell goods such as groceries or alcohol through the on-demand courier app, with delivery within 30 minutes.
Working with Deliveroo has the benefit of allowing retailers with a limited online presence to quickly launch an online service but means that they lose the direct connection with the customer and resultant data.
