New on-demand returns service launched by CollectPlus

DeliveryX

CollectPlus and on-demand delivery service Gett Delivery have partnered to launch a new returns service in central London that will allow customers to have their goods collected for return.
As part of the new service Gett Delivery scooter couriers will collect a customer’s returns from an address of their choice, before delivering it into the CollectPlus network within an hour.

The service will initially be available to shoppers in zones one and two in central London to return purchases to more than 300 retailers including John Lewis, New Look and ASOS. The service will be extended to zone 3 in the near future.

To use the service customers choose the CollectPlus returns option within the Gett app. Their package will then be collected within 10 minutes of ordering and taken to the nearest CollectPlus point.

The service, which is available from 9am to 11pm, 7 days a week, will cost £1.95 per parcel. Full tracking will allow customers to track parcels through the Gett app as their parcels make their way to the CollectPlus store and then via CollectPlus once it’s reached the CollectPlus point.

Matthew Jacques, director of strategic partnerships at CollectPlus, said: “For those living or working in London time is at a premium and people often don’t have time to head out on their lunch break or swing by their local CollectPlus point to return unwanted items.

“Our new on-demand returns partnership with Gett Delivery is an exciting development in the fulfilment space; for the first time, online shoppers will be able to have their returns collected directly from where they are, at a time that suits them, providing our customers with even more flexibility when it comes to handling their returns.”

Matteo de Renzi, UK CEO of Gett, said: “Thanks to the CollectPlus partnership we can help even more people in London save time and effort. We’re thrilled to announce this partnership and have no doubt that the new offering will make returning online shopping even easier and faster for busier Londoners, in turn helping retailers offer a better service and encourage repeat business.” The service is currently being trialled for six months in Central London, with the view to expanding to other cities across the UK in the coming months.
