The Perfume Shop has unveiled its biggest perfume bottle recycling service to date as part of its on-going commitment to focus on sustainability.
The scheme, which was first introduced in 2018, will now be featured in 211 nationwide stores.
As perfume comes under the cosmetics category, the omnichannel fragrance store claims customers can often be “confused on how to dispose of their glass bottles correctly.”
As a result, the retailer has taken away the confusion of how to recycle perfume bottles safely, as well as making a donation for every bottle recycled to the Eden Reforestation Projects.
The donation will allow the charity to plant a tree and support its ongoing mission to make the planet more environmentally friendly.
As part of the scheme, recycling units have been installed in stores for customers to drop their empty fragrance bottles
The Perfume Shop’s scheme also entitles customers to an even greater discount than previously offered at 10% with a new 15% discount off same-day purchases.
“When we launched the bottle recycling initiative it was the first of its kind for perfume bottles which we hadn’t seen before,” The Perfume Shop managing director, Gill Smith said.
“We knew we wanted our loyal customers to both smell good but also feel good when they were aware what they could do with their empty fragrance bottles.
“At The Perfume Shop, we’re proud of the excellent work we’ve already achieved as a business with our partnerships and how we can look to combat wastage as much as we can and that’s why we’re continuing to build upon this year on year to make our cause even greater than before.”
