Pets At Home has taken on a new distribution centre in the West Midlands.
The pet products seller has leased a further 141,000 square foot distribution unit in Stoke, meaning it now rents 278,000 square feet at that site.
The leaser of the site, LondonMetric, said Pets At Home would be paying additional rent of £800,000 per year for the site.
Pets At Home is now hiring for a warehouse shift operations manager and warehouse stock controller in Stoke.
Mark Stirling, asset director of LondonMetric, said: “We continue to see strong occupier demand for well located and fit for purpose distribution warehousing, particularly in urban logistics where there is highly attractive rental growth.
“These lettings reflect our wide range of occupier relationships and our ability to deliver on occupier requirements, whilst also generating material income uplift and further diversifying our income base with good covenants.”
The retailer netted revenue of £1.01 billion in the financial year to March, up 10.2% year-on-year. It offers 9,600 products in its extended online range.
According to consultancy firm Gerald Eve, the overall availability rate for warehouse space fell from 7.1% to 6.7% in the first quarter of 2020, mainly due to demand from essential retailers.
