Pret hikes price of coffee subscription by 20%

Pret A Manger

Pret A Manger has increased the price of its subscription scheme by 20% due to rising costs.

The coffee shop chain currently offers customers five-barista made coffees a day for a fee of £25 a month, however, now the price will increase to £30 a month.

Pret also announced it is widening its service, offering members a 10% discount on its food, snacks and non-coffee drinks, as part of Club Pret rebrand, which was launched in 2020 in a bid to stay afloat during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Over the past year, we’ve thought long and hard about the best way to support the people who matter most to Pret – our team members who do such an outstanding job, day in and day out, as well as our customers,” Pret A Manger CEO Pano Christou said.

“That’s why we’ve increased pay three times in the past 12 months, and reinvested in benefits to support our people through the cost-of-living crisis.

“It’s now time that we give back to our most loyal customers, expanding the subscription and making our freshly made food, snacks and organic coffee more accessible to the people who have been crucial to Pret’s success. That’s what Club Pret is all about.”

The move comes as Pret recently announced its third pay rise in 12 months, which saw 7,000 shop staff receive a 3% pay increase.
