River Island continues international expansion with new Swedish website

River Island has River Island has launched a Swedish website as part of an international multichannel expansion strategy.

The Swedish site, which offers payment in Swedish Krona, is the fifth international launch for the fashion retailer, which has since 2013 opened local sites in France, Germany, Australia and the US. A bricks and clicks approach saw a River Island store opened in The Gallerian Stockholm last year and another scheduled to open in the Mall of Scandinavia later this year.

“Our customer base in Sweden is growing rapidly, allowing us to deliver head to toe fashion solutions to stylish Swedish consumers across the country,” said Josie Roscop, River Island marketing director. “We recognise the Swedish market’s interest in contemporary British fashion brands and believe our fresh and original offering of smart casual wear will inspire and delight the Swedish consumer.”

River Island aims to become a leading multichannel fashion brand with a substantial international presence. Currently the cmpany ships to more than 100 countries and has stores in Western Europe, South Africa, the Philippines and the Middle East.
