Royal Mail to roll out delivery photo confirmations functionality

Royal Mail is to roll out delivery photo confirmations for customers using its tracked services.
The feature will give Royal Mail’s sending and receiving customers increased visibility of how and where mail is delivered. The Royal Mail app and website will show the postie’s photo of the delivered item when customers input their tracking details. The photos can also be accessed via email notifications from Royal Mail.

It follows the roll-out of new handheld devices to posties, announced in September 2021, that have enhanced scanning and photo capabilities to support the new feature. The new device was selected following extensive trialling of different devices by postmen and postwomen across the UK who were impressed by the range of features it offered.

Nick Landon, chief commercial officer at Royal Mail, said: “The photo capture feature is another example of how Royal Mail is innovating to increase convenience for customers, whilst continuing to deliver trust at the doorstep.”
