Space NK has launched a new fully-responsive ecommerce website.
The upmarket beauty retailer, ranked in the Top100 of IRUK Top500 research, says the new site is an important part of its progress towards becoming an omnichannel retail brand.
The site was built on Demandware Site Genesis 2.0, and implemented by Astound Commerce. Improvements introduced with the new site include improved search functionality, active data sets, and geo targeting, says Astound. It says a simplified online development environment means it is easier to change and update the site frequently. Astound cites data showing that loading times were cut in half at the launch of the new website, while a targeted marketing promotion implemented soon after the new website launch saw conversion rates peak at 16.2%.
“The new website is an important step for the next stage of international business growth. It also underpins the foundation for Space NK to continue being a leading omnichannel retail brand, giving our customers the ability to shop anywhere, at any time, and on any device,” said Jez Wilson, head of ecommerce development at Space NK. “The development project with Astound was quick and efficient – the redesigned site was rolled out in just three months and there was zero downtime during the handover.”

Space NK was founded in 1993 with a single store in London’s Covent Garden. Today it has 64 stores in the United Kingdom and Ireland, 25 stores in the United States and an ecommerce business that ships to 56 countries around the world.
