The rise and rise of online fashion retailers

This is an archived article - we have removed images and other assets but have left the text unchanged for your reference

In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter, we report on fast growth at clothing retailers from Boohoo.com to Bonmarché and on an interesting lift in mobile sales at Argos.

But even though online sales are growing at Sainsbury’s, that couldn’t protect the retailer from falling sales that have been put down to the ongoing price war as supermarkets look to address the way the rising cost of living is affecting consumers.

Today we also report on the implications of new consumer rights legislation, which comes into force today. Also live today is the World Cup, and this week’s guest commenter Amdadul Rahman of CyberSource, looks at the implications for online retailers.

The latest in our series looking at the businesses who have been shortlisted in this year’s Internet Retailing Awards focuses on the Brand Award, while Shane Lake of Hungryhouse.co.uk tells us more about the online food delivery platform, which has been nominated for the award.
