Despite the cancellation of The Retail Business Show, cards and payments interest group Vendorcom is continuing with its extensive co-located conference programme and has added an exhibition featuring many of the cards & payments industry organisations who were planning to exhibit at the Retail Business Show.

Paul Rodgers, Vendorcom’s chairman, commented on the decision to continue with the programme; “The cards and payments industry is committed to its retail customers and will not let anything get in the way of delivering what is the most wide-ranging conference on cards and payments issues planned in Europe this year.”

The Vendorcom Cards & Payments Conference, which covers Contactless, NFC & Mobile Payments; PCI: up close and technical, PCI: the big issues; and Prepaid & Stored Value, and includes presentations from Visa, RBS WorldPay, VeriFone, Verizon Business, Barclaycard, IDT Europe and many others can be viewed here. To attend this free conference delegates should register here.

The conference is focused on cards and payments industry issues and aimed at retailers and merchants across all categories. The conference will bring together leading players across the cards and payments industry, including card schemes, banks, systems vendors, consultancies, systems integrators and security assessors in a focused showcase for the industry to highlight the range of solutions that are available to meet the current retailer demand for innovative solutions.

Committing to continue their participation, Mark McMurtrie, marketing director of Postilion, said “The Vendorcom Cards & Payments Conference and Exhibition was a strong component of the Retail Business Show and I believe it is important that we continue to demonstrate the commitment of solution providers to the retail community at this difficult time. The conference is packed with important information that will help retailers in their quest to deliver better value and more secure customer experience at the point of sale. In tough economic times new technology has an important role to play in improving efficiencies and helping improve the bottom line.”

Vendorcom will also continue as planned with The Vendorcom Retail Fraud Conference in association with The 3rd Man over both days. The programme can be viewed here. To attend this free conference delegates should register here.

Paul Simms, CEO of fraud protection specialists The 3rd Man, said: “The economic situation is tough for many retailers, which is all the more reason why they should be looking to protect their margins by taking positive action to protect their businesses from card fraud. Every penny counts right now and many retailers are collaborating and beating fraudsters successfully. This conference will give retailers really valuable insights into how fraud is being reduced.”

The exhibition will continue over both days — 28th and 29th January from 09:30 until 16:30, with the conference running from 10:00 until 16:00. Exhibitors currently confirmed include HTEC, nuBridges, Oris, Postilion, Secure Retail, The 3rd Man and Verizon Business.

Both the Vendorcom Cards & Payments Conference and the Vendorcom Retail Fraud Conference will be free to attend for all retailers and merchants. For more information please contact Paul Rodgers at Vendorcom at paul.rodgers@vendorcom.com.
