Superdrug has launched a new half-hour click and collect service that it says will revolutionise the way shoppers buy health and beauty products on the high street.

Customers can now check stock levels of the item they are looking for at their local store on Superdrug.com and buy an item online for collection in as little as 30 minutes. The retailer, ranked Top50 in IRUK Top500 research, says the new free service will add another layer to their online and offline customer experience, enabling them to be sure of buying must-have beauty products before they sell out in stores.

Matt Walburn, ecommerce director at Superdrug’s parent company AS Watson (UK) said: “We know our customers love the convenience of picking up Superdrug.com orders in our stores and we know they want to live more sustainably – avoiding the emissions that comes from ordering deliveries to their home.  Giving customers the ability to purchase online and pick up in 30 minutes with no charge is a key step in bringing our store and online business closer for our customers.

“The test of the new system will be Black Friday which is going to be one of the busiest days of the year. We have some unbeatable deals for customers coming and this new service will allow our customers to find the deals they want while shopping online – and pick up the product fast.”

Hong Kong-based AS Watson Group has more than 14,300 stores in 24 markets, trading under 12 retail brands including Superdrug and The Perfume Shop. Superdrug has about 800 stores in the UK and Ireland.
