Amazon continues to expand its checkout-less food store concept, opening its first Amazon Fresh store outside London in Sevenoaks in Kent.

The move cements the success the marketplace giant has had with the Just Walk Out (JWO) technology in trials across the capital and is a clear indication that the retailer is now starting to deliver on its plan to open more stores nationwide in the UK.

The new store joins outlets in Ealing, Wembley Park, Camden, White City, Canary Wharf, Dalston, East Sheen, Islington, Richmond, Holborn and Hackney. All the stores also house an Amazon Hub where shoppers can collect items ordered on the Amazon marketplace.

“We’re delighted to open our new Amazon Fresh store in Sevenoaks, the first store to be located outside of London,” Amazon Fresh stores director Matt Birch says. “We’ve heard from customers that they appreciate the seamless shopping experience the Just Walk Out technology enables, as well as the wide selection of food. Customers will also find our dedicated store team ready to help as they shop.”
