Search engine Yahoo! and online travel agent Expedia have teamed up to provide a travel booking engine on Yahoo!’s European sites.

The partnership means Yahoo! Travel users will be able to access more deals for more than 123,000 hotels, 450 airlines as well as car hire. A new Deals module will provide real time access to the latest deals.

Yahoo! Travel is currently seeing its users increase by 115%, month on month, and Yahoo! says this helps take it towards its strategic aim of being the hub for its users’ online activity.

Mark Rabe, managing director and VP Sales for Yahoo! UK and Ireland, said: “Travel is a cornerstone product for our users and Expedia helps us enhance the experience via greater functionality. Ultimately this supports Yahoo!’s ambition to be the centre of users’ online lives.”

The partnership will also incorporate hotel reviews from Expedia customers.

Alex Gisbert, director, online partner marketing for Expedia Europe, said: “The unique ability that Yahoo! has to inspire travellers, combined with Expedia’s market-leading choice of travel products and booking engine, ensures our partnership provides an excellent way for travellers to plan and book their next trip.”
