M&Co to shut 43 stores by end of April following collapse

M&Co is to close a further 43 stores by the end of this month following its collapse into administration at the end of last year.

This comes as the fashion retailer was acquired by Yours Clothing owner, AK Retail Holdings, which acquired the brand and its intellectual property.

However, this did not include its physical store estate.

As a result stores in Alnwick, Alton, Attleborough, Bathgate, Bexhill, Blandford Forum, Brighouse, Buckingham, Castle Douglas and Christchurch are all set to close.

Other store closures include Congleton, Crewkerne, Crowborough Dunoon, East Grinstead, Egham, Exmouth, Faversham, Garstang and Guisborough.

A statement on the retailer’s website, stated: “M&Co online is no longer trading. AK Retail has acquired the M&Co brand, with plans to relaunch the web platform in the coming months.

“Thank you to all our customers from the whole team at M&Co.”

The message also added some of its stores will remain open for a “limited time” with everything “at least 50% off”.
