AO delivery service expands with new West Midlands DC

AO has taken on a new distribution centre in England’s West Midlands area, allowing it to expand its third-party delivery offering.
The 115,000 square foot distribution centre will be used by AO’s Expert Logistics, the third-party delivery service for large and bulky items which serves the likes of Aldi, The Cotswold Company and Simba.

Leased by Trebor Developments and PATRIZIA, the site is located at Redhill Business Park, near J14 of the M6 in Staffordshire.

Rod Mordey, Director of PATRIZIA said that “We are delighted to welcome AO World to this established distribution location. AO’s immediate occupation will help maintain the fund’s income during this otherwise difficult time”.

Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner of Trebor, on behalf of Trebor commented, “We are still doing deals across the UK not withstanding the lockdown. This deal was agreed and contracted in 4 weeks and sees the building in immediate occupational use. We are delighted to welcome AO.”

In June, AO opened its third distribution centre in Crewe in northern England, giving it more than 1 million square feet of space in the city.

The company said it would use the warehouse to support its usual retail operations as well as bulk up the third-party logistics business.
