Online Home Shop (OHS) has reported record gross sales of £61 million for 2025. This represents a 28% year-on-year increase to 31 January 2025 – significantly outpacing the wider online UK retail market, which grew by 3.5% in 2024, according to Mintel.
The 10-year-old family-owned company is based in Worsley, Greater Manchester. It attributes its record-breaking year – which saw sales increasing by over 60% year-on-year during the first half of the current financial year – to the growth of the Online Home Shop website, which increased its customer base and repeat purchases.
OHS has grown its core business in home textiles and expanded into new product categories, including garden, furniture, soft furnishings, and clothing. It has also made significant investments in the infrastructure and leadership of the business to support the rapid growth in turnover in recent years, and now employs more than 180 staff.
UK homeware remains resilient
Despite ongoing economic pressures and rising household costs that have seen a squeeze on consumer spending, the market for homeware in the UK remains resilient, currently estimated at between £17.5 billion and £22.08 billion, depending on the source.
Mintel’s UK Homewares Retailing Market Report 2023 found that three-quarters of consumers say a well-decorated home is essential for relaxation, with almost nine in 10 consumers engaged with the market in 2024. Growing at a CAGR of 4.17%, sales are forecast to reach £27.09 billion by 2030, according to research by Mordor Intelligence.
Online retail outpaces physical homeware growth
Affordable homeware is at the forefront of this growth, as consumers prioritise value for money and practicality over luxury items. Much of the growth is in the online retailing sphere, which is significantly outcompeting the offline homes retail market, (CAGR of 3.2% online compared to 1.7% offline) driven by convenience, competitive pricing and a wider range of goods.
Moshe Cohen, CEO of Online Home Shop, said: “At OHS, our mission is to consistently surprise and delight our customers with high-quality, trend-led products at unbeatable prices – making stylish living accessible for every home.”
