As AI-driven discovery changes how shoppers find and compare products, increasingly rich data – including pricing and product information – is needed to ensure products are searchable and retailers don’t lose out to AI-optimised competitors. Against this backdrop, Product Cloud solutions-provider Akeneo has acquired pricing platform PricingHUB, bringing both pricing and product information together in a single offering.
Akeneo said the deal reflects a shift in commerce toward data-led decision-making, where structured product information and pricing context determine how products surface across channels and AI-powered interfaces. PricingHUB specialises in pricing management, including competitive intelligence and optimisation.
Bringing two disciplines together
The move links two areas that have often been managed separately. Pricing decisions depend on how products relate to others across assortments, categories and competitive landscapes. Without reliable product data to provide that context, pricing cannot be effectively governed.

Akeneo said the acquisition makes pricing a core capability within its Product Cloud, alongside product information management, building on its Activation and PX Insights products and AI capabilities added following the acquisition of Unifai in 2023.
Shift in discovery

PricingHUB will operate as a dedicated business unit within Akeneo.
