Amazon has expanded its instant order Dash Button programme in the UK with 65 brands now available through the Wi-fi connected devices.
The buttons, which allow customers to reorder products simply by pressing the buttons, are available for £4.99 with the same discount then applied to the first purchase, with new brands including Duracell, Glade, Heineken and IAMS now on-board.
“Customers love the convenience of Dash Buttons—feedback has been hugely positive, and we also heard loud and clear that customers wanted more brands and more products across more retail categories,” said Jorrit Van der Meulen, vice president devices at Amazon.
The buttons were launched in the UK last year and have been most popular in London, Manchester and Edinburgh with Andrex, Finish, Ariel and Gillette amongst the top ten brands, says Amazon.
As soon as an order is placed after a customer has pressed the Dash button customers receive a mobile notification confirming the item with a delivery date and price. The Dash Button comes with a reusable adhesive and a removable hook to hang, stick, or place it wherever a customer wants it.
Meanwhile in the US Amazon’s Prime Wardrobe concept has also been revealed. The retailer is currently testing a new service allowing customers a seven days grace period on their order before they buy with customers only paying after they have decided what they want to keep.
A pre-paid returns label is enclosed with the orders rather than customers having to generate one as is usual with Amazon and shipping is free in both directions. More than a million pieces of clothing and accessories are eligible under the scheme, which will also offer discounts depending on how many items customers choose to keep.
