Amazon launches in-car delivery in the US through Amazon Key

Amazon Prime members can now choose in-car delivery as an option in 37 cities and surrounding areas in the US.
Customers can download the Amazon Key app and if they have compatible connected car vehicles from manufacturers including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Volvo, can have goods delivered into their car. Customers just park outside one of their delivery addresses for the service. Support for more car makes and models will be added over time.

As with the company’s other Amazon Key delivery options customers can track their in-car delivery and receive real-time notifications of the progress of the order. The delivery drive requests access to the car through an encrypted authentication process, is verified as being the right driver with the right package in the right location by Amazon and is then allowed access to the car.
