Asendia consolidates global offering with new delivery service

DeliveryX

Shipping company Asendia has launched a new global delivery service, combining the offerings of some of its recent acquisitions into one bundle.
The e-PAQ service, available since the beginning of the year, offers a range of tiered delivery options with delivery into over 200 countries.

The offers range from standard to elite, with the higher tiers adding better speeds and more accurate and in-depth tracking.

Founded as a joint venture by La Poste and Swiss Post in 2012, Asendia now has 16 subsidiaries and business units. Most recently it acquired WN Direct (in 2019) and Globegistics (2018), which both specialise in global ecommerce shipping services.

According to Maya Mathura, digital communications manager at Asendia, the priority since then has been to unify the products, including consolidating naming, organisation and branding. The company has also focused on how ecommerce products should be positioned on the global market.

By using the networks of the acquired companies, Asendia was able to offer different features and networks for different price points.

The company’s next step will be continuing to focus strategically on ecommerce, building out its IT services using the likes of AI. It will also develop its sustainability proposition, including through offsetting more carbon.
