Best Buy’s UK ecommerce website has opened its virtual doors for business.
It offers an expanded range of goods, from audio, video and gaming equipment to mobile phones, for delivery across the UK and through its ecommerce store at BestBuy.co.uk.
Delivery options include free delivery, while through its Price Promise it pledges to match prices offered by bricks and mortar rivals within 15 miles of its stores, and by John Lewis, Argos, PC World, Currys and Comet online. A Reserve & Collect service is available, and customers can order from the expanded online selection from kiosks in Best Buy stores.
Other features of the online store include round-the-clock technical support from Geeksquad.co.uk. Customer reviews come from Reevoo while video product reviews can be uploaded through the site’s Tech Xpert platform. Community forums and blogs give updates on technology news as well as providing a place to ask questions or take advice. Further support comes from more than 350 Inspiration and Advice guides and articles on technology, products and services. Interactive and video buying guides are also set to be added to the site in coming weeks.
deVere Forster, managing director for online at Best Buy UK, said: “The launch of our e-commerce store on BestBuy.co.uk marks a key milestone for the business and helps to make buying technology simple, inspiring and tailored to each of our customers. We are very excited that customers from across the UK will now be able to experience the Best Buy brand for the first time.
“With Christmas on the horizon, customers will now be able to shop for the very best and latest products and services available at great prices in a captivating and entertaining environment – just like in all our stores.”
The US consumer electronics retailer is known for its emphasis on customer service and its arrival in the UK has been much anticipated. The opening of its first UK store earlier this year saw the company beat its own sales record for new stores. It now has six stores, and plans to open another five in 2011.
